CO-ORGANIZER

ZOMES IX CONFERENCE 2017

REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION OPEN

We are pleased to announce ZOMES IX that will be held in Rome from February 14 to 17, 2017. ZOMES IX focuses on the role of Zome complexes (Proteasome, COP9 signalosome, EIF3) and the ubiquitin-proteasome system in the regulation of protein homeostasis.

Download the conference poster.

Topics will include:

* Structure, mechanisms and roles of Zomes
* Regulation of Zomes functions
* Zomes and protein quality control, misfolding and aggregation
* Zomes in aging and disease

Program overview

* Tuesday. Arrival, plenary lecture and welcome program
* Wednesday-Thursday. Conference lectures
* Friday. Conference lectures. Departure in the afternoon.

Zomes conferences are unique in several ways:

  • A not-for-profit conference by scientists for scientists
  • Long history of first disclosures of key findings on functional and physical interactions between PCI complexes
  • Interdisciplinary: Diverse organisms are represented (plants, mammals, yeasts, flies, worms)
  • Dynamic: An active effort is made at each Zomes conference to attract attendants that newly joined the field
  • Interactive: Zomes conferences are small with sufficient time for one-on-one interactions among scientists

ZOMES IX will take place in Rome, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, and will be held at the Hotel Aran Mantegna, which is located close to the city center and the city’s International airport but surrounded by green spaces.

Zomes conferences are typically attended by 150 – 200 participants and bring together investigators and students from different fields, disciplines and geographic locations. Speakers for the oral presentation will be selected on the basis of their contributions to the session topics and preference will be given to young researchers. Poster presentations will be also incentivized through a poster prize.

Meet the Expert sessions at meals will provide graduate students and post-docs the possibility to talk directly to the session speakers.

We are convinced that Zomes IX will become a very successful event and we hope to see you in Rome in February 2017!
